How to write the perfect message for sympathy flowers

It’s always hard to find the right words to accompany condolence, funeral or sympathy flowers. Often you’re grieving, as is the person to whom you’re sending the flowers. Words that sooth, console and comfort are best.

To help at this difficult time, we’ve compiled some of the best tips and a few examples for getting the message for sympathy flowers right.

What to write when sending flowers to the family?

A useful tip is to keep the message to three short sentences.

The first extends condolence, the second an appreciation for the life of the deceased and the third an offer of help. If you’re able to help in a tangible way, such as dropping around meals or taking care of their pet, be sure to mention it. Even after an offer of help, it can be hard for the grieving person/people to actually ask.

Some examples of messages for sympathy flowers include:

I am saddened to hear of the recent passing of your loved one. He/She was an amazing man/woman and I feel privileged to have been part of his/her life. I know this is a difficult time, so if we can help in any way, please don’t hesitate to ask.
